We are pleased to be hosting a full day conference on 21st January 2006 covering behavioural issues, Numicon and speech and language therapy. This is open to our members and all those interested in helping children with Down’s syndrome to achieve their full potential.

Summer Picnic

Sunday 3rd July saw the dsok Summer Picnic at Tilgate Park. The rain held off and a great time was had by all!

Something Special DVD's

The BBC has bowed to popular demand and is releasing the 'Something Special' programmes on video and DVD - the first 2 are to be released in mid-July and the rest next year. See the Makaton home page for details.
DSA Awareness Week

They went that way !
The DSA held a balloon launch in Langdon Park on Monday 6th June to kick off Down Syndrome Awareness week. The balloons were launched by Zoë Mace whose album 'Songs for my Sister' was also released on Monday with all proceeds going to the DSA. Zoë’s little sister, Jodie, was born four and a half years ago with Down’s syndrome and three holes in her heart.
Sadly, on 2 March of this year sister Jodie died after undergoing major heart surgery. Zoë is now more determined than ever to make the CD a success to ensure that Jodie did not die in vain and that vital funds and awareness are raised for people with Down’s syndrome all over the UK. You can get a copy of the CD from WH Smiths, HMV and Virgin as well as directly from DSA.
